“We want to get away from being told what the needs of the community are.  The community voice needs to be heard” Suzy Donald, Project Coordinator

We are delighted to report that we are expanding our partnership with the Oxford Hub. Over the next 12 months we will be working with the Hub who have extended their use of SIGNAL to include four other organisations to engage with a group of up to 100 parents in the OX4 area of Oxford. This is a major research project designed to help parents understand how they can better represent the needs of their community by harnessing the power of their collective data. The process will be driven by the parents themselves, each of whom will complete a SIGNAL Life Map which allows them to determine the priorities in their own lives and which, when combined, create a powerful community voice to help inform local service providers and policymakers where and how resources should be allocated.

This project is part of the Meaningful Measurement Inquiry launched in April this year by Marmalade, which is organised by the Oxford Hub and the Old Fire Station. It is designed to explore ways to harness the power of the community voice to influence commissioners, local authorities and funders. Alongside the Oxford Hub, the other four participating organisations are Flo’s in the Park, Donnington Doorsteps, VIVA Doorstep and Ark-T
